Skylandic

Etymology

From Proto-Germanic *falþaną "to fold". Cognate with English fold, Dutch vouwen and German falten. The semantic shift from "to fold" to "to depart" came about from the Skylandic culture of adventuring. Departing from a location became associated with folding one's tents. Similar to how Latin plicare "to fold" became Romanian pleca "to leave, depart".
