From Old Tefrian rm (/ram/), from Proto-Tephricheic *sam-, from Proto-Asisic *sam-. Cognate with West Achissari ہں (hõ), East Achissari ہو (ho), Vancian em, Bulusic en, Nyongom ам (am), Dovasene ҫеҙ (ȿeɀ), and Khbirye (i) (i), also further related to descendants of Proto-Indo-European *sḗm, such as Greek ένας (énas) and Armenian մեկ (mek), and may extremely disputedly be related to descendants of Proto-Northwest Caucasian *za, such as Abaza закӏы (zakʼə) and Ubykh за (za).
