Vowels as in Sephardi Hebrew, consonants are more varied.

Readings similar to this are used all over Western Europe.

The enunciative vowel -ə is used when a word in pausa has final C. The 2fs morpheme /-t/ is pronounced /-tə/: כתבת [kaˈθavtə] 'you (2fs) wrote'.

• chiriq = FLEECE /i:~ɪj/ in stressed syllables / KIT /ɪ/ in unstressed syllables
• qubbutz / shuruq = GOOSE /ü:/ in stressed syllables / FOOT /ɵ~ɘ/ in unstressed syllables
• shva is not pronounced except for euphony
