There is no future tense, due to the fact that neither Old English nor Old Welsh had a separate future tense. However, the subjunctive mood was often used to demonstrate a future aspect. In Old English there were strong and weak verbs, but in the merging of Welsh and English, the strong verbs were lost, leaving the weak verbs, which changed by adding a suffix.
