===Orthography===

Latimbari uses a version of the Latin alphabet with extra letters adopted during the time of the emperor Claudius. These letters were later abandoned in the Roman Empire, but since the speakers of what would become Latimbari were cut off from other Latin speakers, their alphabet retained these extra letters. Influence from Coptic and the South Arabian alphabet also played a role in the development of this alphabet, as did printing, which was brought by the Portuguese and which introduced lowercase letters.
<!-- Explain the consonant clusters and vowel clusters that are permissible for use in the language. For example, "st" is an allowed consonant cluster in English while onset "ng" isn't. -->
===Morphophonology===
==Morphology==
<!-- How do the words in your language look? How do you derive words from others? Do you have cases? Are verbs inflected? Do nouns differ from adjectives? Do adjectives differ from verbs? Etc. -->
